The Sons of the American Revolution havemade a diligent effort to locate and mark the graves of those Patriots whoserved in the American Revolution. However, this work is only the beginning of theAmerican Patriot story. This story continues with the sons and daughters ofthose brave Americans as both Patriots and their children moved across NorthAmerica to settle the frontier of the Western Reserve; forging west across theMississippi and into the uncharted Louisiana wilderness to settled and tame ournation. The legacy of our Patriots continues today as we recognize the value oftheir many descendants in establishing the towns and villages that would growinto the organized states that lay to the west.

Many communities, states and organizationswere founded by these Patriot Sons & Daughters and by highlighting PatriotSons and daughters, we acknowledge of our Patriot Ancestors as we holdceremonies to commemorate their Sons and Daughters, bringing attention to SARNational and Americas 250th Anniversary of founding.

Each time a grave is marked, the historyof our Patriot Ancestor will be included in the ceremony, once againhighlighting the importance of our founding generation.

As part of the America 250 SAR Committeeprogram, these events will facilitate a connection with the youth we educatethat will inspire them to connect and learn more about our Patriot Ancestorsand their Patriot Sons and Daughters. Grave medallions will be presented aspart of a ceremony honoring our Patriot Ancestor.

To honor the contributions of these manyindividuals, the America 250 SAR Committee seeks to place grave markers on thegraves of sons, grandsons, daughters and granddaughters of our PatriotAncestors.
