The Certificate of Appreciation, authorized in 1987, is a multi-purpose certificate of the same quality as other certificates with the SAR logo at the top and the seal at the bottom, both in color. The wording is as follows: " " has been awarded the Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of outstanding support given to the Sons of the American Revolution." It has printed spaces for the president and secretary to sign, for the date, and or the name of the National Society, district, state or chapter.

The certificate can be used by any SAR organization for recognition of service by members, speakers, and for any other persons that may provide services and support to the SAR.
